Local employment and training opportunities

A wide variety of businesses will be attracted to Cuerden, especially well-known local, regional and national brands. As a result, there will be a broad spectrum of jobs created, requiring a wide-range of skills.

Depending on the eventual occupiers, we would expect these businesses to require highly-skilled technicians, IT specialists, management staff, drivers, skilled operatives and office workers, in addition to retail, leisure and hospitality staff.

As part of the planning application we have submitted an Employment & Skills Statement which sets out how we will ensure that local people benefit from the employment and training opportunities created at Cuerden.

We are committed to working with local organisations, including the Lancashire Skills Hub. We will also encourage links between the new businesses located at Cuerden and local schools and colleges.
