Lancashire County Council exists to serve everyone who lives or works in Lancashire, helping people to be healthy, happy and enjoy a good quality of life. It also exists to protect the most vulnerable members of our communities who need some extra support.

Some of the services are very visible to everyone in the county, but there are many others you may only know about if you come into direct contact with them.

From attracting companies to create new jobs and working with hundreds of schools to deliver a good education, to arranging help at home for people who are unable to get by on their own and maintaining the roads, in different ways we touch on the lives of everyone in Lancashire.

In December 2012, Eric Wright Group was selected as Lancashire County Council’s Regeneration Property Partner for Preston, Fylde and Wyre, Chorley, South Ribble and West Lancashire. As part of this Partnership Eric Wright Group are the Developer Partner for Lancashire County Council on the Cuerden Strategic Site.

The Preston-based Eric Wright Group is an established leader within the building industry. Maple Grove Developments was formed in 1981 as the development division of the Eric Wright Group and will lead the development of the Cuerden Strategic Site. It is one of the most respected property developers in the North of England operating across all sectors of the property market.

The City Deal is an agreement between Lancashire Enterprise Partnership, Preston City Council, South Ribble Borough Council and Lancashire County Council, along with central government and the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).

The City Deal will help to create more than 20,000 new private sector jobs and see over 17,000 new homes built across Preston and South Ribble, as well as new school places, open green spaces and new health provision to cater for the growing population.
